Potty Training . . .

So I had it all figured out . . . with help from my potty training manual, potty training should be easy and doable. I read the book, made the charts to chronicle the "events" of the day, bought a timer, made sure potties were strategically placed, found goodies to make going potty entertaining, and so I began my day with high, but "realistic expectations." As the day winds down and we are batting 0-4, I am realizing that even the best books, the best procedures in place, the pep talks . . . just don't necessarily equal success. Today's accomplishments were learning to pull underwear and pants up and down, sitting on the potty every 20 minutes (although the accidents seem to happen right before and right after those 20 minutes), and that's about it. A bit discouraging to say the least. Katie does not seem to want to actually use the potty, although she does talk about the stickers and little chocolates that are part of our incentive plan. I'm not sure where to go from here, but tomorrow is a new day, right?
