The day after Thanksgiving, Ben and I invited some friends of our's and their children to join us for a morning at La Granja, a petting zoo just outside of Bogota. What a find it was! Each child received a basket of cut carrots at the front gate, and from there, our guide took us to see, pet, and in many cases, feed animals ranging from burros to baby pigs to turkeys. Watching our children experience each animal was really precious. And at the end of our "petathon," we were able to enoy a picnic followed by a frolic on a trampoline. While Simon and Isabel had been on trampolines before, this was Katie's first time. She was so proud of herself when she was finally able to stand and give a little bounce without help from anyone.

A Few of Katie's Buddies
Through mommy's group and church, Katie has found some wonderful playmates to get into mischief with. While words like "sharing" and "taking turns" haven't quite made it into Katie's vocabulary, she loves to be around other children and can often be heard squealing with delight when she sees one of her little friends approaching.
