Daddy and Me: Perfect Together

Daddy had today off from work, so I hung out with him (and mommy) all day. My daddy is really fun. Even though I look serious here, he usually has me laughing when he plays "mosquito" and tickles me, has me ride like I'm on a horsey on his lap, and sings silly songs about all kinds of things. He is one of my favorite people!

Look What I'm Learning to Do

I am not very good at it yet, but I am learning to sit up by myself. Actually, I face planted a few times while trying to sit up, and as a result, I ended up with grass in my mouth. It didn't taste very good! But . . . each day, mommy and daddy have me practice sitting up by myself (usually without my brace so that my back muscles get stronger) and rolling over. I am better at rolling over than sitting up, but I still have some work to do.

Hangin' with Mom

One of the things I loved about Parque del Museo was the tall, old trees. In fact, mommy said these were some of the oldest trees in Bogota. I just loved staring up at them!

Look at Me . . .

You are going to notice a theme in these pictures. They were all taken in the park this morning. I am finally big enough (with the help of my brace) to swing in a big girl swing. I just love it! And what's even better is that I can hold on with one hand and still stick my other hand in my mouth. Can you tell I am starting to teethe?!

A Day in the Park

Daddy, Mommy, and I had a great time in Parque del Museo Chico this morning. I got to ride this blue dolphin, spin on the merry-go-round, and swing. It was so much fun!

Getting Ready

Here's a better picture of Mommy and me before we went to Natasha's birthday party. We had so much fun that I fell asleep as soon as we got home!

My First Birthday Party

Last weekend, Mommy, Daddy, and I went to my first birthday party. Natasha is my friend from mommy/baby group, and she just turned one. There was a ball pit, an inflated castle, lots of balloons, and other fun toys. I was a little too little to enjoy them, but I still had fun playing with my balloon and watching the older kids racing around.

My First Solid Food

Here's Daddy feeding me my very first rice cereal last week. He tried to pass it off as slightly thicker breast milk, but I was not fooled. All this week, I spent a lot of time making faces, spitting the cereal out, and sticking my fingers in it so I could decorate whatever I touched. But Mommy and Daddy still think I've made progress because occasionally I swallow some.
